Day two of our short break. We decided to go to the Loonse and Drunense Duinen (Dunes of Loon and Drunen National Park). Also called the Brabantse Sahara (named after the province it’s in). What an amazing place! One of the largest natural areas in The Netherlands and the largest sand drift area in western Europe. It’s a beautiful sight and a bit surreal. We loved it.
We followed the purple route. A smaller hike made for kids. But still taking us along all the typical elements this area has to offer. From pine forests to heather and shifting sands. Definitely an interesting landscape. And also a perfect one for the kids to play in! What’s better than putting your toes in the sand anyway. 🙂
