King’s day! Which means a lot of people dress up in orange and go out to celebrate the King’s birthday. This year we had a special guest as Adri’s mom just arrived for two weeks. So we took her to Breda and showed her a little bit of the craziness that King’s day can be. This meant visiting ‘The vrijmarkt’ (literally ‘free market’). It’s a nationwide flea market, at which many people sell their used goods. It can’t get more Dutch than that on a King’s Day (although we should probably get some oranges shirts ourselves as well next time)!
A Beautiful April in Hungary
Not just any April. Simon’s first birthday and our wedding! Here are a couple of pictures looking back at that month.

A Calm Day At The Efteling
According to the website of the Efteling it would be a lively day in the park when we visited it last Saturday. Luckily they were wrong because as it turned out there were hardly any queues. We had some good weather on our side and while strolling though the park I managed to get some pictures.
Jail Time
For over 20 years my father used to work as a prison guard in the ‘Koepelgevangenis’ (Dome prison) Breda. The prison was built in the period between 1882 – 1886. It now no longer serves as a prison anymore but instead offers space for several activities to take place. One of those activities is a guided tour. My father now being of the tour guides. So I decided to join him on one of his tours. A perfect way to visit this iconic landmark of Breda and spending some time with my father.
Birthday Boy
Last Tuesday Iván turned 4. 4! Can you believe it?! The weekend before we celebrated his and my nephew’s birthday together (who has his birthday one day before Iván). On Tuesday we had another little small party at home. Four candles already. I just can’t wrap my head around it.
A Magical Day
Last weekend we finally managed to go to the Efteling again. The weather was a bit cold at times. But overall nice enough to be outside for a couple of hours. It was pretty busy so we skipped the long queues and just had a walk in the Fairytale Forest and enjoyed the merry-go-round. Just being there already brings a smile on our faces.
